Redi-Mix Charity Classic

For over 20 years, Redi-Mix Concrete and U.S. Concrete have been proud sponsors of our annual golf tournament, the Redi-Mix Charity Golf Classic, benefiting worthy charities in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. During this time, we have raised over $1 million for men, women and children in the DFW area that are in need of assistance.

For our 23rd annual Redi-Mix Charity Golf Classic, we have again selected to support the Clayton Dabney Foundation for Kids with Cancer. Last year we were able to present a check for $277,000 to the Foundation. In 2018, the Redi-Mix Charity Classic was held on October 22nd at the Trophy Club Country Club in Roanoke, Texas.

The Clayton Dabney Foundation

The Clayton Dabney Foundation anonymously assists needy families with children in the last stages of terminal cancer. The Foundation often provides gifts of last wishes to a child that may be out of the financial reach of the parents. In some cases, financial assistance has been provided to ease the heavy financial burdens of families such as car, house, utility and other obligations so the parents can spend more time with their dying child. Since its inception in December 1995, the foundation has served nearly 3,300 children across the U.S. and distributed more than $2.5 million in gifts and financial assistance.

A 6 year-old boy from south Texas really loved the band, the Kumbia Kings. With time running out and his cancer progressing, the Clayton Dabney Foundation arranged for this boy and his mother to fly to Miami to see a live taping of the Kumbia Kings on the TV show Sabado Gigante. After the taping the boy was taken backstage to meet the band who took him for ride in their limousine and presented him with an official band jacket.

A young girl living in Dallas who was diagnosed with a terminal Leukemia bravely fought her illness for several years. The Clayton Dabney Foundation provided this girl and several close friends the 16th birthday party of her dreams with a limousine ride to a special salon for manicures, pedicures and hair makeovers.  The evening concluded with a pizza party with a DJ and a slumber party at a local hotel.CD2

A young man from a small Texas town with just weeks left in his young life was hospitalized during the 2005 college football National Championship game.  He loved the Texas Longhorns and dreamed of hosting a big game watching party for his family and friends.  The Clayton Dabney Foundation paid for a game-watching party at the hospital complete with his favorite foods and drinks, Texas jerseys and signs and many of his closest friends and family.CD3

CD4A 5 year-old girl in Houston diagnosed with a terminal brain tumor was living in a one-bedroom apartment with her single mother.  Every day she would dream her illness away by pretending to be like the princesses she saw on TV and in her videos. The Clayton Dabney Foundation made this dream come true by delivering a white “princess bed” complete with a new mattress, bedding and a special canopy.
